Star Wars - the 80's High School version

Wandering in my Google+ timeline, I stumbled upon a wonderful gallery by Italian artist Denis Medri: Star Wars - the 80's High School version

Denis re-imagine the iconic saga as a 80's High School TV series. The heros and villains are re-thought as teenager students and school faculty.

I really love C-3PO and R2-D2 as the nerds!

And what to say of Obi Wan and Yoda as teachers? Yoda as sport teacher reminds me of mr. Miyagi from The Karate Kid.

Denis has also drawn some key scenes of the saga adapted to his new paradigm, as this one with Yoda training Luke.

Body painting illusions

Thanks to my good friend Guigui, I've discovered the blog of Hikaru Cho, a Japanese graphics art student who does some amazing body painting art.

I've always loved optical illusions, and I find amazing to have them done directly over the body of people. And the ephemeral aspect of her works make it even more interesting.

In her blog you can find a lot of other samples of her wonderful art, it deserves to be seen!

Update: I've just found that Hikaru Cho takes part in the Amnesty International's global campaign 'My Body My Rights'. I love her work for the campaign!
